Does Claz replace my customs broker?
No. Claz is an assistive tool that speeds up and documents classification; the final decision and legal responsibility stay with the professional. Think of it as a copilot with an audit trail.
Why use Claz instead of ChatGPT?
Claz uses the same class of AI as ChatGPT, but specialized: it's grounded in millions of customs documents and the official nomenclature, and every answer descends the tariff tree with citations you can audit. A general chatbot isn't built for this. Ask one to classify white chocolate and it will call it 'chocolate', when for customs it's sugar confectionery. Claz also runs many classifications in parallel and puts your whole team on one subscription. Use it alongside other tools if you like, and, as with any AI, alongside a licensed customs professional.
Why use Claz if I could build this internally?
You could, but it's rarely worth it. It means tuning models, ingesting and continuously updating each country's tariff schedule, and running the infrastructure, all of which costs far more than a subscription. We've already done that work and keep it current, so you can start classifying today. We're happy to help you onboard.
Why use Claz if the tariff schedules are public?
The schedules are public, but classifying against them is the hard part. Claz researches your product, walks the nomenclature to the right code, and gives you the reasoning and citations, turning hours of manual lookup into seconds. The data is free; the expertise and speed are what Claz adds.
What if the suggested code is wrong?
Every result comes with a confidence score and its reasoning. If confidence is low or it doesn't match, you can reclassify by answering open questions, review the proposed alternatives, or refine the description.
Are the results reliable?
Generally yes, but it's good practice to have a person review them, since customs authorities are strict about declarations. The engine is rarely wrong, but when a description is ambiguous it may assume details (for example, 'apple' as fresh apples). Claz always shows the assumptions it made, along with its reasoning and citations, so you can check them.
Does the justification hold up against a customs reclassification?
Yes. Each classification includes the reasoning, the General Rules applied, and citations to the nomenclature, so you can support and audit the chosen heading.
Where does the tariff data come from?
From each country's official sources: ARCA (Argentina), SENIAT (Venezuela), USITC/CBP (US), CBSA (Canada) and TARIC (EU), plus the Harmonized System nomenclature.
How often is the tariff data updated?
We re-ingest the official sources periodically and whenever the nomenclature changes, so you always classify against the current version.
Which countries does it cover?
Today we cover Argentina, Venezuela, the United States, Canada and the European Union, and we add new jurisdictions continuously.
Are my data and product specs confidential?
Yes. Your products and documents are private to your organization, with tenant isolation, and are never shared with other customers.
Can I integrate it with my ERP or e-commerce?
Yes. With an API key you classify from your ERP, e-commerce or scripts in a single call; you can also process invoices in bulk with OCR.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. You can change or cancel your plan whenever you want; a downgrade takes effect at the end of the current cycle.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. There's a free plan so you can try Claz at no cost, and paid plans come with a 14-day money-back guarantee: if you've used no more than 30% of that period's credits, we'll refund your most recent payment. Email our support team and see our Refund Policy for details.
